A series of sculptures and installations inspired by purpose-built skateboard architecture. Creating a tension between function and form, the Ramps offered ideas of potentiality, movement, projection – both physical and mental – onto surfaces, and changes in body/space relationships. Some of the installations and sculptures subverted the prescribed use of the architecture or space they existed in, encouraging viewers to navigate the environment in alternative ways. The majority of each Ramp sculpture was recycled into the next.
