An edition of three, Future Installation (Grand Fir) is a take-away installation in which the patron of the work becomes a key collaborator. Each sapling is housed in a reclaimed wood box which also contains an artist book. The book outlines care and planting guides for the tree, as well as a contract between the patron and artist. The tree is then planted, and in roughly 20 years time the artist will travel to the location– completing the book illustrations and building an installation in the mature tree. Like the site-specific Perch (Monserrat), the body-space relationships in nature are explored but now projected over a long period of time.
